Nestled Luxury Lodges: A West Sussex Staycation

I spent a cosy autumn weekend this November staying at one of Nestled’s newest lodges located in Binsted Arundel, West Sussex called Nestled by the Green. I stayed in a cabin called The Willow (very apt for me seeing as that’s the name of one of my beloved cats!) which had two double bedrooms. Immersed in nature & overlooking the most beautiful views, I made it my very own cosy reading retreat. With a stack of books, the fire going, some snacks, watching the autumn leaves fall & enjoying all the incredible features the lodge has to offer I was very happy indeed!

Once you’ve booked you get sent a digital guidebook with all the information you need to know about your lodge, getting there, its features and how to use them which is really helpful and fun to browse through before your stay.

Lodge Features:

Two Double Bedrooms: In each lodge you’re spoilt with 2 cosy double bedrooms tucked away behind pocket doors. One has double doors that opens out onto the terrace. Both rooms have TV’s, cosy blankets & pillows and clothing rails.

Fully Equipped Kitchen: I absolutely loved the kitchen! It’s so beautifully laid out, comes complete with breakfast bar and 2 stools, fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, oven and hobs. There are also plenty of dishes, glassware and cutlery.

Wood fired Hot Tub & Sauna: These made it feel like we were at our own little private spa! I love that you can enjoy these whilst looking out at the beautiful views too. Pure heaven!

Outdoor Cinema: This was possibly my favourite feature of the whole lodge! I had so much fun watching films on this outdoor cinema. The projector is massive and there is access to all channels and streaming apps. With a comfy L shaped sofa, an electric blanket to snuggle under and a bowl of popcorn I was in my element!

Fire Pit: Surrounded by four chairs and beautiful golf course views it’s the perfect spot to gather around in the evening and toast a marshmallow.

BBQ: Located on the terrace. If the weather looks set to be dry make sure to bring some food to BBQ and make full use of it.

Pet Friendly: You’re welcome to bring your fluffy friends to accompany you on your stay!

Golf Course Views: The views are absolutely beautiful from the lodge, especially as it was autumn when we visited. We got to see some glorious autumn colour and the leaves falling.

Free WiFi and Onsite Parking: Very handy and you can park pretty near to all the lodges so you don’t have a long way to carry your luggage.

Things to do:

Visit Arundel Town: Only a few minutes drive away Arundel is the most quaint beautiful town & has always been a favourite of mine since childhood with many unique shops to browse & tearooms to stop by. I’d particularly recommend stopping by Kim’s Bookshop, Pallant Delicatessen, The Tea and Biscuit Club and the are plenty of little antique shops to browse through. For cafes I’d recommend Motte & Bailey and Cockburn’s Tearoom. If you’re looking for somewhere for dinner I’d recommend La Campania.
Arundel Castle & Gardens: Always a must visit when you’re in the area (open from April-October) this would make a great place to stay if you plan on visiting their annual Tulip Festival in the spring.
Black Horse Pub Lunch: This is within walking distance from the lodges so you don’t even need to worry about moving the car!
Visit Swanbourne Lake: A beautiful place to take a walk. They also have a cafe and ice cream hut.
Visit Chichester: There are hundreds of independent shops to explore, the historic Chichester cathedral is a must visit and Chichester festival theatre if you want to catch a play or a musical too. I highly recommend Joanna’s Boutique tearoom for lunch or afternoon tea!
Woodland Walks: There are lots of options for tranquil country strolls & dog walking in the area.

What to pack:

Food & snacks for meals you’ll be wanting to eat in the lodge. There are plenty of local dinning options but you have a fully equipped kitchen so you may as well make use of it during your stay. I brought some popcorn for the outdoor cinema and some marshmallows (and skewers) to toast over the fire pit. There is a BBQ as well so bring some food for that if you wish to use it!
Swimming costumes to use the hot tub
Personal toiletries
Books
Some cosy clothing and slippers especially i
f you’re not used to walking on hardwood floors
If you’re not good with matches I recommend bringing a long lighter to light the fires with.
