Romantiscing the seasons has become my thing over the years. It makes me happy to find the magic in each time of the year even when they’re not my favourite (winter, I’m looking at you). They can be the smallest moments, little activities that just give you a feeling of the season and it can really help you treasure that month. Autumn is very easy to romanticise!
In this post I have recommendations for Activities, Movies, TV Shows, Playlists and even some Outfit Inspiration all to get you in an autumnal mood for the entirety of the ‘Ber Months! Make sure to check out my Instagram account @katiekirkloves for all my autumnal posts this year!
*Game idea: take a sip of hot apple cider every time I say the word autumn in this blog post!
Autumn Activities
I have some autumnal activity and bucket list Instagram templates for you to fill in and share with your friends. For more of my seasonal and fandom related IG templates check out this post here.
Autumn Movies
I’m very much a Nora Ephron Autumn Gal and can’t let the season pass without watching those classics but alongside those I’ve tried to pick films with either. Get out some blankets, light some pumpkin spice candles and cosy up for an autumn movie night!
Autumn TV Shows
When I was younger I would say most shows, if not ALL the shows began their new seasons in autumn! So there were plenty for me to choose from that gave me that nostalgic cosy vibe and autumnal aesthetic. Perfect to have on in the background whilst you bake, craft or decorate your home for autumn.
Autumn Books
Autumnal rom-coms, magical witchy books that I love, give me such a warm, nostalgic & seasonal feeling and are also really enjoyable stories! Check out my Bookstagram account @katiekbooks for more seasonal book recommendations!
Cosy Autumnal Romances
A list of rom/coms most of which are set in a small town, quirky communities and give major Gilmore Girls energy.
Cosy Witchy Reads
A list of books with witches, magical high jinx, spell craft with a side of romance and general cosy autumn vibe.
Autumn Playlists
I have created a couple of themed playlists for you to be the soundtrack to your autumn months!
To me songs that say autumn to me have either an acoustic or an electric guitar (preferably both), have lyrical content that references autumn and/or have been on a film or tv show soundtrack that I associate with autumn. It’s Taylor Swift’s albums Red and evermore and artists such as Noah Kahn, The Cranberries, Fleetwood Mac and The Smiths.
Let me know what gives you that Autumn feeling?
