I feel like I’m much more of a Galentine’s Day fan than a Valentine’s fan these days. As it’s all about celebrating your female friendships and for me, those have always been the strongest relationships throughout my life! For those of you who don’t know, Galentine’s Day is on the 13th of February, the day before Valentine’s Day. So I think it’s the perfect excuse to gather all your favourite girls together and plan a fabulous Galentine’s Night In! Failing that a pampering night in alone can also be just what you need sometimes. Remember, self love first!
My Recipe for the Perfect Galentine’s Night In
- Choose Your Film | Set up a nice comfy area with lots of blankets and pick out some films for a movie marathon. I LOVE a good rom-com! Some of my favourites include: 27 Dresses, Love Simon, Definitely Maybe, Crazy Stupid Love, Clueless, Legally Blonde and of course Bridget Jones’s Diary (I love all 3!). As well as the classics like Pretty Woman, Nottinghill and When Harry Met Sally. I’d love to hear what you favourite Rom-Com is in the comments! I’m sure I’ve missed some really great ones off my list.
- Get The Snacks | What’s a movie marathon without epic amounts of snacks? Popcorn, sweets, chocolate, pizza, ice cream. You know, all the good stuff and as much as possible. It’s got to last through to the end of the films after all! Hot chocolates, piled high with marshmallows of course. Or how about some wine or cocktails?!
- Scent The Room | I find I can’t truly relax anymore without a scented candle burning. There is just something about fragrance and the ambience of a flickering flame burning that helps me switch off.
