Today I am sharing with you my swatches and review of my delicious new Eye
Shadow Palette by Laura Geller!
I'm a big fan of Laura Geller makeup. I first discovered her range through QVC
UK and bought a little set of products just to try, since then I've been hooked!
I find its all very quick and easy to apply but the results are beautiful and
natural. I use the Balance n Brighten (fair) as my everyday foundation and swear
by her Real Deal Concealor, especially when my skin is bad!
I saw this palette being presented on QVC recently and snapped it up immediately
*heart eye emoji*! There are two options a nude version and a cool version the
latter featuring more jewel tone colours. I went for the nude option but it's so
much more than just nudes! I ranges from creams and sandy shades for
highlighting, to shimmery golds, bronzes and coppers, a rose toned shade, deep
browns and even khaki and forest greens. All of these shades called out to me
because a brown smokey eye is my go-to however I like to mix things up a little
bit sometimes to go with different outfits and different seasons whilst still
keeping close to the neutral family and I can do this all in one palette!
You get 14 baked eye shadows in each palette all of which can be used dry,
for natural or smokey effects and can be used wet for more intense shadow hues
or to use as eye liner. The brush that comes with it is quite small,
smaller than my other Laura Geller shadow brushes, I'd prefer it bigger but it's still good quality
and allows for finer brush work. It has a rounded shadow end and a sharp angles
end for using as a liner.
This palette has sold out on QVC UK however I have found that it is still available on House of Fraser & Cult Beauty
I have tried out a couple of different looks so far using this shadow palette. Note: The only eye makeup I have on in these pictures is from this palette plus some black mascara.
I was excited to create an autumnal look (pictured below) using
the copper/golden tones in this palette so that was what I experimented with first! Using the honey shade dry, I lightly covered the lid and also added it to the inner corners of the eye. Then I used vintage in the crease and outer corner. I used raisin dry to line the bottom lash line. I added dolce on the brow bone to highlight. I then wet the brush for a more intense pigment and dabbed the honey onto the centre of the lid. To finish I used the deep mahogany shade wet, to line the upper lash line.
Below Shows: Green Shadows (Left) and Honey/Gold Shadows (Right) on open eyes. I think both combinations complmetn my green eyes.
I created this green smoky eye (pictured below) using khaki, dry lightly all over the lid and inner corners. Then forest in the crease and outer corner. I also used forest dry to line the bottom lash line. I added dolce on the brow bone to highlight. I then wet the brush for a more intense pigment and dabbed the khaki onto the centre of the lid, wetting it brought out it's slighty golden undertone. Finally I used the forest shade wet, to line the upper lash line.
If you look closely at my arm swatch of the forest shadow you can see tiny
little flecks of red in it, very pretty! You can't really see the red flecks
when you put it on the eyelid though.
Cool palette version is also available which features a few nudes but also purples, silver/charcoals and navy shades.
